We will do our utmost to keep to the prices published. If, however, increases are forced on us we reserve the right, prior to confirmation, to amend the tour price.
DAY (SCHEDULED) TOURS: (see other tours below)
Wine Desk accepts deposit payments only in order to secure a tour. The balance is payable in cash to the guide on the day of the tour. As a Tour Broker (ie we design, market and sell tours) our systems have been designed to allow us to accept payment (eg. credit card (Visa, Master, Amex); EFT) for the deposit only. We do not take full payment for day tours.
The deposit is non-refundable. Under special circumstances where the deposit is refundable, it will be subject to a 25% administration fee.
This also applies should you choose not to check with us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and book a scheduled tour for 1 person using the “Check Availability and Book Online” facility. If the tour is not available, you will receive an email indicating whether or not we are able to accommodate you on another tour. We can also waitlist you in anticipation of another tour becoming available to you. To avoid losing your deposit, please email us first.
The published prices are our cash payment (ie for balance owing after deposit) prices only. Clients wishing to make arrangements for any other form of payment should do so with the understanding that other prices apply in such instances. These prices are provided on enquiry. You may feel free to ask the guide on the day of the tour to accompany you to an ATM to withdraw cash if you so wish. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred payment method.
You may be required to complete a credit card authorisation form for the outstanding balance. Should the terms of the Cancellation Policy be breached, Wine Desk reserves the right to recover the outstanding balance from your credit card using the signed authorisation. Should the form be requested, your tour will only be confirmed once the completed and signed form is received.
Itinerary subject to change: every effort will be made to keep the itinerary as is; however, the final itinerary may vary due to wine producer schedules, availability and factors beyond our control. Wine Desk reserves the right to make any changes to the itinerary without written notice.
COLLECTION / DROP OFF:
Collections start from around 08h00 (12h30 on afternoon half day tours) and drop offs by 18h00 (full day) and 13h00 (half day morning tours). Due to timing and traffic restrictions, collection and drop off on scheduled day tours is limited to addresses in the Cape Town city bowl (as far as Camps Bay) or in the Winelands. You can request a drop you off at your next stop-over in the city or Winelands (there may be an extra mileage charge for this).
There are less restrictions on private tours, so special arrangements can be made.
PERSONALISED, PACKAGED AND GROUP TOURS:
Please take note of the mentioned inclusions and exclusions in the price of these tours.
50% deposit payable on booking
Full payment due within 30 days prior to commencement of tour (60 days for group bookings which include accommodation)
Final confirmation of booking is only made on receipt of the above-mentioned deposit. Should the deposit not be received as requested, Wine Desk reserves the right to automatically cancel the booking without any verbal or written notice.
Children on private tours only.
Children under 18 no charge for groups of 7 pax or less (including children)
Clients to provide own child safety seats for the vehicle.
Payments are refundable only if cancellations are received in writing as follows:
For Day Tours: a minimum 48 hours written notice is required for cancellation. If breached, the full amount for the tour will be payable.
For other tours:
- 75% refund cancelled 60 days or more prior to commencement of tour
- 50% refund cancelled 30 days or more prior to commencement of tour
- 25% refund cancelled 15 days or more prior to commencement of tour
- No refund cancelled 10 days or less prior to commencement of tour
There will be no refunds for any part of the tour that may be missed due to personal reasons.
A non-refundable 20% booking fee will be requested to confirm bookings, and the balance payable directly to the establishment. Some establishments may have additional requirements eg. 50% deposit or request credit card details, in order to secure the booking. This is in addition to the 20% booking fee.
Wine Desk, it’s servants, agents and employees or sub-contractors shall not be liable for any loss or damage to tourists/passengers, luggage or effects. Nor for any injury or incidents to tourists/passengers or their belongings. The tourist/passenger hereby waives any claim which he/she may have against Wine Desk, it’s servants, agents, employees or sub-contractors (all of the aforementioned being collectively referred to as Wine Desk). For any injury and/or loss of any nature whatsoever (including, without limiting the generality of the aforegoing, consequential loss) arising for any reason of any nature whatsoever directly or indirectly out of any aspect of the tour including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, any form of transport used for the purpose of the tour. This waiver shall be binding on the tourist’s/passenger’s executors, heirs, trustees and dependents. The tourist/passenger records that all the services and facilities provided to the tourist/passenger are accepted voluntarily and with full knowledge that they may expose the tourist/passenger to injury, danger or loss. The tourist/passenger further records that any statement, representation or information given to him/her by Wine Desk shall, unless given in writing, not prejudice this waiver in any manner whatsoever. The tourist/passenger indemnifies the Wine Desk in respect of any claim that may be made by any third party against it arising out of any claim in respect of which the tourist/passenger gives the aforementioned waiver. This agreement shall be governed solely by laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Whether the tourist/passenger/booking agent returns a signed copy of these conditions or not, the conditions will deem to have been accepted and will be enforced upon confirmation of the booking.
